When we read any book, we usually identify with the hero. the Bible is no different. We always think we would make the right choice. We think that put in the same situations as people like the young rich man of Matthew 19, we would make the right decision... But would we? Hindsight is 20/20 after all.

Nothing in life worth having comes easy and the same is true for our relationship with God. What are you willing to leave behind to follow Jesus? If Jesus told you to sell all of your possessions, give them to the poor, and follow Him, would you go? Or would you stay behind in the safety of what you know?

What does adopting a pet have to do with salvation? Absolutely nothing, and absolutely everything. When I think about my own experience picking a pet, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude that Christ didn't stick with the purebreds (angels); He came for the beat-down, sickly, and damaged animals in the ASPCA commercials (us).

The struggle is real when deciding what is and isn't appropriate for entertainment value. These past few months I've been struggling to walk away from two of my favorite franchises and a childhood favorite.

I'm not quite type A, but I have type A tendencies, and not having a solid plan for the future is one thing that bugs me. My plan was to secure a job during the winter. I'm a little more than 3 months away from graduation and I have no idea what's going to happen next... That's way out of my comfort zone. Anytime you have to step out of your comfort zone, you can be sure both God and the devil are somewhere nearby arguing about how you're going to handle it.

No matter how smart, logical, or well organized we are, things simply don't turn out the way we envision. The outcome is usually better for us, but we don't always see it that way. Every time I find myself looking in the mirror wondering where my plan fell apart, I refer myself to 2 books: Jonah and Job .

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Genesis 3:16 KJV I am convinced when God "punished" Eve with pain in bearing children it was actually His way of giving womankind infallible proof that He is the Creator of all things.

I don't have faith in humanity as a whole, but I do have faith that there are a multitude of good people out there.

A testimony to God's way of preparing us for our purpose in life.

The 16th testimony discusses journey from becoming merely a believer to a representative of Christ in all that you do. This journey helped me to become a better person.

We may not have an angel and a devil on our shoulder arguing about what to do, but we definitely hear from both God and the devil. Knowing who's voice is who's is one of the most important things a Christian can ever discern.
