Introduction

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son
is given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.

Jesus is the Messiah foretold and prophesied about in the Old Testament. He is foretold as early as Genesis 3, though His life and ministry are contained in the gospels of the New Testament. Jesus is God's Son, born of the virgin Mary, who took on our sins and conquered death when He died on the cross and rose on the third day. It is through Him that we gain salvation (eternal life).
