Also discussed is the rift that suddenly emerges between David and his first wife, Michal. Finally, we see a semi-messianic prophecy from the prophet Nathan.

In battle, someone always loses. Numbers 31 relays the devastation brought about by the Midianites' desire to disrupt Israel's rise to power.

We see these events from the point of view of Balak, king of Moab, and Balaam. Balaam is summoned to the king in the hopes of placing a curse on the Israelites.
