A look at what I learned and struggled with during this reading of Song of Solomon.

This post is a reflection of what I learned and took away from Ecclesiastes. Although Solomon starts off seeming to prove the pointlessness of life, we see exactly the opposite: everything in life always points back to a singular point. That is the purpose of life.

Proverbs is a great book for introspection. As I read Proverbs, I started to think of how these nuggets of wisdom applied to my own life. Am I the fool or the wise man in Solomon's examples. As much as the truth hurts, sometimes I'm the fool, but with the wisdom given, I can work to improve myself and so can you!

A look at what I learned while reading Job. You've probably seen be referencing Job in a slew of other posts, so you can guess what the lessons are from this book. The four main takeaways are: (i) even the righteous may suffer; (ii) only God can define justice; (iii) when your friend is suffering, you should stay by their side; and (iv) God will not like it if you spread false doctrine.

We can look at the book from the perspective of uplifting womankind; in the end only a woman could save the people. If we look deeper, we can see an allegory for the war in heaven. It's a short book, but it's worth slowing down and taking an extra look over.

Sometimes you have to sit and think a while on what you've read. Eventually the Holy Spirit will reveal why God left this information for us. Lessons Learned: The Gates of Jerusalem
